I’m looking for a munchkin costume like from the wizard of oz for my baby. I have been able to find a lot of munchkin costumes for older children and adults, but not for babies.

My daughter will be about 8 months old and I want to make her cupid for Halloween. I can’t find child sized accessories for the costume anywhere online. Also, any DIY mother’s out there with any tips on how to create the costume? Help!!

My son who is almost 3 used to be a very agreeable child. Now he objects to every routine. I picked a costume character that is is one of his favorites and introduced him to the costume last night. He wants nothing to do with it and had a screaming tantrum when we put it on. We have several ideas for how to get him to "warm up" to the costume but I thought it would be interesting to hear what others have to say.

Here is what I did.
I put the costume on every night for 2 days leading up to Halloween and he protested every night and ripped off his hat. I hung the costume on his closet door so he could get used to seeing it and he did talk to me about it. On Halloween morning I woke him up wearing a silly hat on my head. He started to think that was fun and then later he put on my silly hat. We usually don’t let him have candy but I will admit I totally bribed him with candy on Halloween eve. I gave him some resee peices and told him that if he wanted some more he would have to put his hat on. He left the room to go looking for his hat, put it on and got a good attitude quickly! One "fun size" bag of resee peices went a long way! Then he forgot he was wearing a costume and just went out to play. When his little friend came over and we started trick-or-treating he was then totally having a good time but I don’t think he cared about the costume.

okay my husband and i always throw a halloween party and go all out with our costumes… this year we are having trouble decideing on a costume that matches and that is suitable for children to see(the party is kid friendly), we are usally the best dressed, and this year we are headed for the ideas like… tarzan and jane or mork and mindy, abbott and casstello or big bad wolf little red riding hood, can any give me an idea of a good not too scary couple costume idea, that is not very common around the lines of party city? thank you for your ideas and help…!!!

There’s four of us. And we really want to go as something thats related. Something recognizable, like Dorothy, Alice in Wonderland. LIke children storybooks. But we can’t think of a lot of them. So what are good children storybook costume ideas for FOUR teen girls? Thanks!

If you have bought your infant/toddler an old navy costume, was it true to size? My son wears 18-24 months clothing, and I just ordered him a 12-24 months costume. 24 months pants are a little too big on him, but he can’t wear smaller due to length. The next size up is 2t-3t, and I can’t imagine it would fit because he can barely wear 24 months. Do you think his costume will fit?

I grew up in a Christian home and my parents made sure I never ever, not even once got to go trick-er-treating! My husband was alowed to go but stopped when he found out Halloween was satanic. I don’t want my kids to feel left out like I did, but I’ve not taken them Halloweening either. Then to see the prices of costumes at WalMart felt like more of a trick than a treat. Since they are in public school they want to dress up which is the closest I will allow them to take part in this. Where can I go and not pay + for something they will use once and once only. Am I the lone ranger in this or are there other parents out there who don’t honor this holiday? So how about taking my kids out to eat instead, or giving them a candy budget? IF my church isn’t providing an alturntive then where else should I look for an alturtunitive to the Halloweening seen? I wouldn’t mind a clean, family friendly fall harvest thing for them to do instead. I just don’t want my kids to feel left out.

what was some of the things your toddler was for halloween!

I’ve got a 2 year old Halloween costume that my child wore only once. I thought of Ebay, to get rid of it. Any parents out there knows what a pileup and waste of all these old one-time worn costumes can amount to. Although I was an avid fan, is it too early to try and make a few bucks from the sale of it? My child doesn’t want to be Steve for Halloween, and I don’t want to be disrespectful about his recent untimely passing? I also think this would be some form of tribute to him, what are some opinions?

I am putting together halloween costumes for my 3 year old and my 7 month old sons, I want them to be pirates, does anyone have any ideas for things I need to put them together, and I dont sew, please leave links and places I can get these supplies.

My husband and I are taking our two girls (five and two) trick-or-treating for the first time this Halloween. Becca (five) is a princess, and Leia (two) is a bunny. How can I keep them warm, but still let them wear costumes?

My Mom dressed me as a Barber Pole in the 4th grade. It is the most creative costume I ever wore, and it won a contest.

What are you dressing you children as for Halloween?

I will have a pair of brothers, a newborn and a 2 year old this Halloween. What are some good costume pairs for them. I will dress up too if there is a good adult costume to go with it. There may be another adult but I don’t know if he will wear a costume.

Financially, we had to wait until last minute for our son’s halloween costume. We have been all over town, and nothing. Either all of the good stuff is gone or there is nothing left in his size. Time to get creative!! Since I can’t sew…we were thinking Mummy, with guaze. Can someone instruct me how to do this? Any cute ideas? We wanted to make it dingy looking as well but how do we do that? Anything??

I’m 17 years old, and I don’t do Halloween, I used to though, and in my neighborhood like people up to ages 18 or even 19 go trick or treating, does this bother you when you see this? No one’s mean to the younger kids, and no one really has any scary costumes, and no inappropriate costumes (playboy, sexy nurse, etc). I’m not going, I was just wondering.

I have an almost two year old gilr that has ver curly hair, basically like MJ in his younger days and very fair skin. She hates anything on her head, even barretts, clips, so hat or any kind of head peice wont work. ANybody have any ideas on what to do. I was thinking maybe a disco baby or hippie but wanted some other ideas????

I want to be something creepy, but kind of unique. I’m not allowed to bring weapons to school (this is for school, like my other halloween question) and I can’t even bring fake ones. I also can’t have a mask either.
I was thinking of a creepy version of Red riding hood…as any kid should know who she is. I hope. xD This is for a costume contest by the way. I’m not afraid to do either gender costumes, although I prefer male. ^_^ (actually, girly male costumes) I was also considering a creepy doll with those stitched lips…. Hee-hee. Any idea or suggestion, vague or not, would be very appreciated. I need to get my costume at least more than half way done before the 21st of October, as I will be gone to Ontario to a play/theater festival or whatever it’s called.

I’m not sure that anyone will know this. I don’t know why I’ve been thinking of this lately, but there is a cartoon from my childhood I used to love that I want to find. It’s animated in this spindly, overly-detailed style, but I can’t recall the name. Circa 1985-6?
The plot, as I remember, is that there is a witch who stumbles across three children, dressed for Halloween as a monster, a ghost, and something else. She decides to grant them their Halloween wish and turn them into their costumes for real. Havoc ensued. I think it ends with the witch being confronted by the parents of all the children in town, She convinces them that she did what she did, not out of malice, but a love of Halloween. She encourages all the adults to remember their love of this season, and they eventually do. Then she grants them their Halloween wish, and turns all the adults into their favorite Halloween characters, including a Wolfman, Frankenstein, and more ghosts. Then they all party.
I know there is an obscure pop-culture vulture out there somewhere that can help me out here! And you will be crowned King/Queen of the Obscure 80’s Movies.

I don’t know where to buy a toddler costume for my daughter in Chicago?Any ideas?

I work at a children’s bookstore and need a good costume. any ideas and ways to inexpensively implement them?

Last year it was 65 degrees here on Halloween night, but this year it is estimated to be around 40 degrees during trick or treat hours.

My daughter is in size 2T, so her costumes are size 2T/3T, but if I put a coat under them they don’t fit. They just aren’t wide enough.

I went back to the store to look at the 4T/5T ones, and they are far too long. I live in the midwest so the little kid costumes in this area should accommodate to our weather!

A friend told me to try Old Navy since they sell warmer costumes, but our local store and online only seem to have the same 3 boy costumes left.

Ideas?
