Cheap Halloween Costume Ideas for a couple?
My boyfriend and I want to go as a couple costume pair for Halloween. We were thinking Johnny Cash and June Carter, or the Soc’s and the Greaser’s. He and I are tight on money and need a cheap costume.
Do you know how we could put together our own? What would we need to wear to be either of these things?

When my husband and I were dating a few years ago, we went as peanut butter and jelly. I wore a purple sweatsuit, ironed on a white piece of fabric (the jar label) and painted it up to look like a jar of Smuckers. I did the same for him except with brown sweats and made him Jif. We were the hit of the party!

The greaser would be simple: hair gel, white t-shirt with a cigarette carton rolled up under the sleeve and an old pair of relaxed fit (or similar) jeans.
As for the Soc, you could wear a letterman jacket and knee high pleated skirt. If you can’t get the jacket, then just a plain blouse would be fine. I would suggest wearing kinda retro colors: pink, white, baby blue, etc. And if you really want to go the extra mile, you can check out my source for any hairstyles you might want to do.
If you need to buy any of the clothes, I’d suggest going to a thrift store.
