I don’t know what arear you are from , but there is a a monthly magazine called FamilyFun. Every Sept/October they have wonderful inexpensive ideas for halloween costumes. Give it a try.

Last year my goddaughter got dumped on me on halloween and I did not have any extra money, so what I did was put a laundry cut a whole in the bottom of the laundry basket and put on top of her and pinned socks all of her. We called her dirty laundry. She actually won first place at our community function. It was so cute and cheap.

If you go to your local library they have lots of books on making homemade costumes. Take the kids and make it a fun day.

We know a kid who either sewed or taped his sisters Barbie dolls all over one of his dad’s sports coats and wore a sign on his back that said "Babe Magnet". He wore sunglasses and looked so cute. I thought it was very original!

When I was in grade school my mom took a large clear trash bag and cut leg holes in it. She blew up a bunch of water balloons (time consuming part, hope u have good lungs) and filled the trash bag with them, tied the top of the bag with a yellow ribbon at my neck, and drew the Jelly Belly Logo on a piece of paper, and I was a bag of jelly bellys. I won 1st place for most creative costume at school.
