Is your child allowed to wear costumes at school on Halloween?
This year my children are not allowed to wear costumes at school for Halloween. In the past they could, just as long as it wasn’t anything too scary. Halloween is so much fun, so I am upset at this. I live in a very small community not a big city, so this change dissapoints me.

Welcome to the world of political correctness. It’s my understanding that Halloween is being set aside by lots of schools. many of the kids that go to school belong to a religious group that frowns on Halloween as evil. So schools decide to not alienate the kids by canceling it for everyone. That’s also why there is no Christmas celebrating anymore…it’s now just a winter celebration.

At my son’s school, only the kindergartners dress up on Halloween. They do a parade through the classrooms. It doesn’t bother the older kids. They dress up later for trick-or-treating.
