My boyfriend and I are both 19 and we are going to an adult halloween party on Saturday we don’t have a lot of money. What should we do for costumes? Got any cheap ideas? Please nothing stupid or or mean comments. Thanks!

I’m dressing as a pageant queen from the 80’s with dress and make-up to match. Please be a creative as possible. Also, this is for an adult Halloween so don’t worry about offending. By the way use you imagination, the dress is hunter green with shoulder pads and a big bow on the butt. And my sash is hot pink. This whole outfit is ridiculous looking. I even thought of being a drunk prom date. Any suggestions?

I have some children’s halloween costume patterns that I would like to make to fit adults. If I, for example, double or triple the pattern size, will that work, or will all the proportions be wrong? I’m a pretty inexperienced sewer, so please dumb the answers down a little!!

I need a couple of ideas. we need 2 different ones. one set for a group of 3, 2 women and a man, and also another for a couple (male and female). we were thinking 2 girls be sexy school girls and the man be the headmaster, and for the other couple the cowgirl and cowboy, or prisoner and guard. We want something thats easy and cheap to make but creative, sexy not slutty. Were going to an adult halloween party, were theres prizes for the best costumes. HELP!

Husband and I have been invited to a adult (no kids) halloween party and need to find costumes. We have never been to costume party for adults only. Question is, what is appropriate for adults only? We don’t want to pick something very g-rated and have everyone else wear more of an adult themed costume and feel out of place. We also don’t want to show up with something too sexy that we also feel out of place. Any suggestions that kind of fall in the middle?

my boyfriend needs a halloween costume fast! we don’t have a lot of money and he… ha well ok he’s a guy and doesn’t have a lot of clothes to choose from to help haha.

My roomate and I are having an adult halloween party and my boyfriend and I are in need of some unique couple costume ideas. Theres gonna be a costume contest and were looking to win = ) Im looking for something cute/sexy… just not too sexy.

Do you have one child that challenges you more than your other children? I do. I have three children, two sons and a daughter. My daughter is the middle child and has always been very creative. This is a good thing and will most likely be an asset for her as an adult; however as a child it means that she demands more attention and time. Not only does she make unique requests, but she also wants to be involved in fulfilling them. When she was ten years old we went to see a production of the Christmas Carol at one of the metropolitan theaters. The production was excellent; it was a great family outing. After we saw the production she wanted to have a copy of the book. We bought this for her as a stocking stuffer for Christmas that year. In the copy of the book the illustration of the ghost from things yet to come was drawn in the classic grim reaper costume. She decided as soon as she saw the illustration that this is what she wanted to be for Halloween the next year. I did not look for a grim reaper costume because my thought was that she would change her mind several times in the ten months before Halloween came around. The month before Halloween she was still insistent that she wanted a grim reaper costume. My thought was to use black material that we could drape and pin around her, however she wanted the hood and she wanted a way to wear it so she could see, but no one could see her face. There were grim reaper costumes available for adults so I bought her one and we shortened it so that she could walk without having to hold it up. There was a large hood on the costume, but you could still see her face. I looked for black sheer fabric that we could sew into the hood, but all the pieces I found were either so sheer that you could still see her face or they were too opaque to see through. I bought the sheer fabric as well as black face paint. I sewed the fabric into the hood several inches back from the edge and then we painted her face black. This worked great because when you looked at her you had no idea of who it was. We also painted her hands white so they had a ghostly appearance. She was going to a party at a neighbor’s house. I sewed Velcro around the sheer material so that she would be able to pull it away from her face in order to eat and drink. Throughout all of the construction of the costume she was in the room with me making sure that it was exactly how she wanted it. She wants to learn to sew so that she will be able to make her own costumes in the future. I am sure they will turn out great because she is a perfectionist.

Yeah…not child scary…but something that would scare some1 say in there 30’s.

Well, I’m getting the decorations up; how about you? There’s not much time left now. Yes indeed, that frightening day where anything can occur is upon us. You’d might as well stock up on the candy and prepare for hundreds of tiny monsters, goblins, ghouls, witches, werewolves, and vampires. We all know what happens if you don’t offer them something. They could inflict a terrible wrath of destruction on you and your family. Or they could simply whimper and go tell their parents. I’m talking about trick-or-treators here; not real demons. Although I did read that the treats were originally given out as some sort of offering in the hopes of being spared any harm. Hmm, that’s interesting indeed. Anyway, have you tried on your new costume yet? Maybe it’s an outstanding captain america costume this year.

I actually spotted a captain america costume a few years back when I was squeezing through the Halloween crowd on Franklin Street in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. To my surprise it was on a sorority girl, not a guy. It was probably the greatest captain america costume I had ever seen. She wore it well my friends. And so can you if you find the right place to shop for your truly unique captain america costume. I on the other hand must go out into the dark and scary night as something much more menacing. Or at least menacing looking. I always like to offer the trick-or-treators a spooky experience when they come a knocking on my door. That’s the way it should be done on Halloween. This night of October 31st should be utterly filled with terrifying costumes and massive loads of candy.

Aside from a snazzy captain america costume, what else do you suppose is imperative in your Halloween experience? I think a dazzling array of props, lights and decorations are in order. Make those little tikes want to come to your door. Don’t you recall how fun and exhilarating this was as a child? I deck my home out more on Halloween than any other holiday. It’s a blast stringing spider webs and hanging bats. The motion detectors are essential now days. This way when someone approaches your door, they’re startled by a frightening voice and some eerie sounds. Get on the web and search for that captain america costume and all sorts of other Halloween goodies to make this October 31st outstanding.

We are going to an adult Halloween party a week before Halloween and we’re needing some ideas. We live in Southern Illinois so it will be a little chilly that night. I wear a women’s Medium and he wears a men’s Large. Thanks in advance for any ideas!!
