okay my husband and i always throw a halloween party and go all out with our costumes… this year we are having trouble decideing on a costume that matches and that is suitable for children to see(the party is kid friendly), we are usally the best dressed, and this year we are headed for the ideas like… tarzan and jane or mork and mindy, abbott and casstello or big bad wolf little red riding hood, can any give me an idea of a good not too scary couple costume idea, that is not very common around the lines of party city? thank you for your ideas and help…!!!

I want to be sexy, attractive ,and make guys really want me on halloween, what should i dress up as?
i know the normal nurse, police officer, stuff like that but i wanted to be something original thats guys like. i was leaning a lot towards being a secretary because i hardly wear my glasses and when i do guys like it..soooo please help

Now, I’ve looked online, looked at all the rules, and it clearly says, around "Halloween Time", only guests 12 and under are allowed in the park wearing costumes, unless they’ve purchased the Halloween Party event tickets. Me and my friends (all over the age of 18) were planning on going to Disneyland on Halloween day. We desperately want to go in costume, but don’t want to fork over for the event ticket. Do you think that they won’t let us in if we’re wearing costumes?

I mean, I’ve seen photos of adults in Disneyland wearing costumes, so they’re getting in somehow. And we aren’t going to dress up as Disney characters, so there’s no chance of confusion. Is it a strict no exceptions rule, or do the cast members not care that much?
My costume is extremely tame – I’m being Red Riding Hood. Red knee-length skirt, white blouse, hood, and flats. That’s it. It wouldn’t even look like a costume without the hood, except for maybe the petticoat that goes along with it. I’ve seen goths stomping around Disneyland wearing a lot worst, so I don’t think my costume would pose any safety hazard whatsoever.

I have two daughters, ages 6 and 5 months. My 6 year old told me that for Halloween, she didn’t care what she was, but she wanted her costume to go along with her 5 month old sister’s costume. You can find Couples Costumes everywhere — adam and eve, banana and monkey… but nothing for kids.

Anyone have any cute ideas for children’s theme costumes that would go together for their age groups. (cartoons and Disney characters seem to be the biggest rage but any ideas would be appreciated!) They don’t need to be available for purchase anywhere – I have a friend who is willing to sew the costumes for me.

This year my children are not allowed to wear costumes at school for Halloween. In the past they could, just as long as it wasn’t anything too scary. Halloween is so much fun, so I am upset at this. I live in a very small community not a big city, so this change dissapoints me.

I like to order well ahead of time online to avoid the insane rush you see in stores if you wait… I have searched MANY sites and cannot find any Space Chimps costumes… My boys are set on Space Chimps… HELP!!!

I´m thinking about wearing my cat costume to class that day.

Im having a Halloween party for my 5yo ds with his kindergarten classmates. I found these little awards that say things like "scariest costume", "prettiest costume", "most original costume", etc. There are four awards….do you think the other children might get upset for not getting one, too? They will all be getting party favors to take home. I was thinking to make it fun, like have each kid walk down "the runway" showing off their costumes. Then have all the kids vote for the awards.

What do you think?

some preschools here have banned scary costumes on halloween. kids can only wear the cute stuff (read: fairies, thomas the tank engine, barney, friendly pirates, etc).
oh and i’m not talking about my children’s schools.

So Halloween is around the corner, i would like to know What are some creative Halloween costumes for couples?

Last year my bestfriend and I were Polly Bleaker and Juno, we were AMAZING! and this year we want to top that, but we’re stuck..what are some recognizable couple costumes that everyone will know but won’t think to dress up as?

After seeing “The Wiz” the 70’s version of the old classic The Wizard of Oz, my kids were in love… after all it does have one of their (and the world’s) favorite icon, Michael Jackson, in it and with the catchy tunes, bright colors, awesome costumes and superb dancing my children couldn’t help but fall in love. Now they have begged me to allow them to be characters from “The Wiz”. Not the Broadway classic costumes but the actual movie characters and I have looked everywhere. The costumes that some local and online shops do have involve cheap material, little selection and look very similar to the original Wizard of Oz, which is not of any interest for my very opinionated, vibrant children. Does anyone have any suggestions of how to make these costumes without spending an arm and a leg… especially since this will be a one-time event?

me and my friend were born on the same day and we are so close we could be twins so this year for halloween we wanted to be something unique but liek a couples thing but for girls. we thought salt and pepper shakers but everyone does that or selvester and tweety but we want more ideas.

i have a football game on the day of halloween and our dance team is performing to thriller by michael jackson. Our dance coach wants us to dress like zombies, but me along with the rest of the team want to make sure we still look cute. Having "adult" Halloween party. Will be 4 or 5 young married couples. Could use new ideas for entertaining, funny, naughty costumes–beyond the obvious/stale ones. Also what are good adult games for this party? I wouldn’t say "anything goes" on costumes or games, but don’t hold back, we’ll considered all good ideas.

Fairy Halloween costumes are extremely popular among most young girls, both for Halloween and other dress up events.

All things go in cycles. For children, this can be influenced by the movies or television shows that they see, and also by what they see their peers taking an interesting in. For a while, my daughter loved the Wiggles, but she seems to be growing out of them and into more of the things that her classmates are talking about. One of the more recent trends that I have noticed is that many girls are into fairies. This came to my attention when my daughter asked for fairy costumes for play. I looked them up, and they are very numerous right now.

Fairy costumes have always been around, but there are more when a movie or television show starts to feature them. There is a new Barbie movie about fairies, and that might explain why there are many buying fairy costumes right now. Though some are based on the movie that is coming out, but there are many other ones more generic in nature that are also available. Some children don’t care which costume of fairies they get, as long as they have one.

What is great about fairy costumes, at least in my daughter’s eyes, is that you don’t have to have a reason to wear them. We have gone to the grocery store with her dressed in many different things, and I won’t be surprised if we go soon with her wearing her fairy costume. She loves the attention, and her imagination allows her to believe she really is a fairy, though you don’t often see them in the grocery store. She wouldn’t mind if she had to make her own fairy costumes, as long as she has wings, she is good to go.

You don’t have to buy complete fairy costumes. You can always buy the parts and pieces if you wish to make something special. You can see what the basics are by looking at other sets of costumes of fairies, and then get what you want to build your own. You have to have fairy wings, and some type of frilly or flowing dress, and the rest is up to you. Your child may even have some very specific things they are looking for when asking for fairy costumes, so have them search for the parts with you. You may even find that you can buy just a few things to modify something that you already have in your closets for a really great fairy costume.

Making children’s costumes: an economical way to stimulate imaginations and create fun for kids year ’round!

Children have such vivid imaginations and oh, do they love using them! It’s important to nurture their creative side at an early age. Not only do you thus provide kids with a lot of fun play time, but creative activities that are not bound so much by rules, but instead dependent on individual ideas, helps kids to develop skills in ‘thinking outside the box’.

Play acting is one such activity that kids can play with a parent, another child or a group of kids. This kid’s activity is greatly enhanced with a collection of children’s costumes you and your children can make, at little cost and time.

Let’s take a look at just a few ideas for children’s costumes that provide hours of fun and developmental education. Both boys and girls get behind the costume games.

1. The fairy princess children’s costume is invariably a girl’s favorite. A couple of yards of netting can be gathered at the waistline with a basting stitch on the sewing machine and then fixed with elastic a few inches smaller than the child’s waist. A plain colored tee-shirt may be decorated with glow-in-the-dark star stickers on the front and back of the shirt, tiny rose appliqués or a length of frilly lace around the neckline. To complete this children’s costume, you can make a shiny wand of gold cardboard in the shape of a star, and purchase an inexpensive dime store tiara bedecked with rhinestones.

2. Robin Hood and Medieval knight’s costumes are among the top choices with boys. For Robin Hood, a square of green felt is easily stitched with just three pieces, two triangular pieces for the cap, with the third piece stitched around the cap for a brim. Add a feather, affixed with a glue gun. His tunic is simple, made of brown felt, in two pieces, with a V-shaped neckline in the front and large sleeves that are easy to pull over his head. (Felt is a good children’s costume material, as it requires no hemming.) Transform this tunic into a knight’s armor, using navy blue felt and a silver permanent marking pen to draw shiny links for a realistic look worthy of Prince Valiant. A piece of sturdy silver colored cardboard, with the hilt decorated with sparkling rhinestone jewels makes a handsome accessory indeed.

3. Cowboys, cowgirls and Native American children’s costumes are more perennial kid’s favorites. All of these costumes work well in felt. Fringes attached to cowboy and girl vests and a simple skirt or pair of chaps, both fringed, are a hit. Adorn these costumes with dime store silver stars and, don’t forget the bandanna and hat! Beads on felt tunics and leggings make a handsome Native American costume, along with a long, black wig, which can flow loosely, kept in place with a beaded band you purchase, or make with that handy glue gun.

You can see how easy it is to create an entire wardrobe of kid’s costumes. Let the kids pick the costume of their choice. Pirates, cartoon action characters and any of the Disney movie characters are ever popular. Accessories can be interchangeable with different costumes too. The Medieval knight’s sword can fill in for Jafar’s sword and the tiara or a Princess’ veil can serve in a number of roles. Who knows but that the kids may turn into budding actors, staging their own play with their easy and inexpensive children’s costumes? Invite all the parents to the performance!
