okay my husband and i always throw a halloween party and go all out with our costumes… this year we are having trouble decideing on a costume that matches and that is suitable for children to see(the party is kid friendly), we are usally the best dressed, and this year we are headed for the ideas like… tarzan and jane or mork and mindy, abbott and casstello or big bad wolf little red riding hood, can any give me an idea of a good not too scary couple costume idea, that is not very common around the lines of party city? thank you for your ideas and help…!!!

My husband and I are throwing a halloween costume party. Since we are hosting the party we have to watch cost. We want our costumes to have a similar theme though. We also have a 4 month old who will be 7 months at halloween, we want her costume to go with our theme also. So i need ideas please.

I grew up in a Christian home and my parents made sure I never ever, not even once got to go trick-er-treating! My husband was alowed to go but stopped when he found out Halloween was satanic. I don’t want my kids to feel left out like I did, but I’ve not taken them Halloweening either. Then to see the prices of costumes at WalMart felt like more of a trick than a treat. Since they are in public school they want to dress up which is the closest I will allow them to take part in this. Where can I go and not pay + for something they will use once and once only. Am I the lone ranger in this or are there other parents out there who don’t honor this holiday? So how about taking my kids out to eat instead, or giving them a candy budget? IF my church isn’t providing an alturntive then where else should I look for an alturtunitive to the Halloweening seen? I wouldn’t mind a clean, family friendly fall harvest thing for them to do instead. I just don’t want my kids to feel left out.

I’ve got a 2 year old Halloween costume that my child wore only once. I thought of Ebay, to get rid of it. Any parents out there knows what a pileup and waste of all these old one-time worn costumes can amount to. Although I was an avid fan, is it too early to try and make a few bucks from the sale of it? My child doesn’t want to be Steve for Halloween, and I don’t want to be disrespectful about his recent untimely passing? I also think this would be some form of tribute to him, what are some opinions?

My husband and I are taking our two girls (five and two) trick-or-treating for the first time this Halloween. Becca (five) is a princess, and Leia (two) is a bunny. How can I keep them warm, but still let them wear costumes?

I will have a pair of brothers, a newborn and a 2 year old this Halloween. What are some good costume pairs for them. I will dress up too if there is a good adult costume to go with it. There may be another adult but I don’t know if he will wear a costume.

So I’m having two costumes this year, one cute one for school and a sexy one for the halloween party. Anyone have any ideas? Preferably something I can put together rather than having to go out and buy. Also preferably something not too complex. I want to be sexy and have a good costume but not over the top or like I tried to hard. Thanks!

I’m not sure that anyone will know this. I don’t know why I’ve been thinking of this lately, but there is a cartoon from my childhood I used to love that I want to find. It’s animated in this spindly, overly-detailed style, but I can’t recall the name. Circa 1985-6?
The plot, as I remember, is that there is a witch who stumbles across three children, dressed for Halloween as a monster, a ghost, and something else. She decides to grant them their Halloween wish and turn them into their costumes for real. Havoc ensued. I think it ends with the witch being confronted by the parents of all the children in town, She convinces them that she did what she did, not out of malice, but a love of Halloween. She encourages all the adults to remember their love of this season, and they eventually do. Then she grants them their Halloween wish, and turns all the adults into their favorite Halloween characters, including a Wolfman, Frankenstein, and more ghosts. Then they all party.

Last year it was 65 degrees here on Halloween night, but this year it is estimated to be around 40 degrees during trick or treat hours.

My daughter is in size 2T, so her costumes are size 2T/3T, but if I put a coat under them they don’t fit. They just aren’t wide enough.

I went back to the store to look at the 4T/5T ones, and they are far too long. I live in the midwest so the little kid costumes in this area should accommodate to our weather!

A friend told me to try Old Navy since they sell warmer costumes, but our local store and online only seem to have the same 3 boy costumes left.

Ideas?

I want to be Mary Poppins in the White "Jolly Holiday" outfit. Also, my friend wants to go as Willy Wonka with Johnny Depp. Im looking to make these costumes as cheaply as possible. All help will be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

I was outraged at what I found in the weekly school newsletter today. It seams the children are no longer able to wear costumes as school for Halloween. In past years they were able to wear them as long as they weren’t too scary. I am wondering how many public schools out there still get to wear costumes. I live in a small rural community. I didn’t hear of any vote on this either.

Me and my boy are going to a halloween party (I’m a freshman in college) and I want to look super hot! It’s just a bunch of our friends, so it doesn’t have to be "appropriate" but nothing disgusting.. I want us to have original, cute costumes! :]

My family is having a costume party this year AND it will be my husband and my first year as a married couple. We want to do a fun couple costume. Something original. We love music (I’m a singer he plays guitar) and watching movies of all kinds. He’s tall and I am short if that helps. We’re willing to do any sort of costumes creepy, scary, funny, cute. halloween is coming up. and my two best friends might come over for a sleepover since halloween is on a friday this year. so anyway, i would like a costume (it doesn’t matter what category it is in. for example: funny, scary, etc.) i tried Partyland and they had very nice costumes but they were about 50 dollars. i don’t think it makes sense to buy a dollar costume that i will probably only wear one nite.

I always loved dressing up for Holloween but it is more exciting for dressing my kids up this yr my two year old is going to be a bicker and my daughter a punk rock princess a, my boyfriends two year old im dressing him as a scarecrow i like doing the costumes myself it is cheaper

I am going to be an ’80s girl for halloween.
I need:
Legwarmers
Lace fingerless gloves
Bright red lipstick
A miniskirt
A flashdance sweater or maybe a vintage michael jackson shirt? (everyone loved mj in ‘82 :])

Also, what kind of shoes should I get to go with the legwarmers? High top converse doesn’t sound like it’d look right. What else do I need for my costume?

Again also, Is this even a good costume? My mom says I won’t stand out and that nobody will understand my costume; but most people who pay attention to the costumes are the ones who give out candy and they would have most likely been born in the ’80s.

Our dance class is doing a dance for the final showcase in June. Our costumes are these long white pants, with black jackets and a skeleton on the jacket. The whole point is that we do the beginning of our dance under fluorescent lights so only the white shows.

The only problem is, our original song was "Disturbia" by Rihanna, and then we switched to "Beat It" by Michael Jackson. Does anybody have any song ideas that fit our costume, or are spooky in general (but not halloween spooky, Disturbia is a good description of the spooky/creepy I need) and face-paced?

I’m looking for size 28+ costumes that are cheap and relatively modest. What I mean by modest is at least knee length skirts (preferably a little longer). I’m most interested in really feminine costumes, and might want to be something renaissance or medieval related. Preferably it’d be or less and is of relatively good quality.
