I was thinking of dressing up as facebook or iphone/ipod
but I’m sure more than one couple would show up as facebook/ipod

I can’t think of anything popular. something everyone knows about. When I walk into the party, I want all the attnetion. I want people to turn around and look at me and say wow, thats the best costume

I really need help. Can someone help me. Please and thank you

I’m having a Halloween party for my 2 year old and his little friends and bought a little prize for every child (just prizes from places like Target) but was just wondering if I had to give every child a prize. I was going to make up prizes for different Halloween costume parties. I just feel bad at this age b/c they are little and don’t want anyone to feel left out.
I alse have a treat bag for every kid, etc… I was going to give certificates and then a prize for things like Best Superhero, Best Overall, Silliest costume, etc…
I’m not looking to have them compete. I was going to make up stuff and just randomly give out a prize. I know the parents are the ones that choose, obviously a 2 year old can’t go and get something or really won’t say anything.

Mr. Hyde will need lots of face paint and distorting special effects. Dr. Jekyll can be the 19th century equivalent of a classy nerd. Google can serve up photo results from the movie to perfect this couple’s Halloween costume.

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s legendary Sherlock Holmes and his sidekick, Dr. Watson make another perfect Halloween costumes for couples concept. It’s easy to find images which show every detail of the manner of dress and demeanor of each.

History buffs will appreciate the fun and pomp of dressing up as Napoleon Bonaparte and his love Josephine. Think of the wigs, clothing and great accessories to work up these costumes. Putting on pompous airs of greatness are part of the act.

King Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette did arrive at a dire end, so this Halloween costumes for couples ideas can be worked in one of two ways. You can come in their pre-Revolutionary splendor or after the guillotine part. Pompous or ghoulish, take your pick.

In previous years I’ve had some pretty good, original costumes, such as Indiana Jones and Elton John (complete with feather boa, sparkle shoes, etc).

This year I have decided I want to do something from the mid-90s (I find myself nostalgic for that time period and it’s an era I’ve never done)

Here’s the requirements I have:

1. It has to be something easily recognizable but something nobody else at my Halloween parties will be.
2. It has to be something that will not only make me stand out, but also look appealing to the opposite gender (Elton probably was not but I was younger then)
3. I want it to be detail oriented. I want to be able to have little things that make people go "Wow.. you really spent some time on this"
4. I want to be able to move around. Like I said, I’ll probably be party hopping so it can’t be anything bulky, anything I’d have trouble dancing in, and anything with two many props (1 or 2 max such as my whip and camel back when I was Indiana Jones)
5. The person can’t have blond hair because I don’t and I don’t want to wear a wig or dye it.

Some ideas I’ve been toying with
Butthead- I don’t want a Beavis and it’s kind of simplistic
Hair Metal Band Member- Could work but more 80s than 90s and I did that last year
Something from Old School Nickelodeon (Don’t know what yet)
Austin Powers- The humor is 90s but he’s really from the 60s and I don’t want to act like Austin Powers all night.

If anyone has any ideas or places for me to go I’d appreciate it a lot.

Halloween is my favorite holiday of the year. Usually, I spend weeks and weeks preparing for it. I make the best Halloween costume I can, and I usually get some very positive reactions. Nevertheless, last year there was a change. I was just coming into town the day before Halloween from an extended business trip, and I knew I would have no time to put together a costume. I had to find something that I could assemble quickly but that was still impressive and in the spirit of the holiday. That is why I wore a Grim Reaper Halloween costume.

A Grim Reaper costume is actually a pretty easy thing to assemble. If you want to keep it very basic, you can get by with a cloak with a dark hood and some face paint. Ad a scythe and you’ve gone a bit further. For my Grim Reaper costume, however, I wanted to get a better effect. I wanted to look truly creepy. I decided to shave my head and paint my entire face white with black outlines around my eye sockets and my nose. I painted my hands in a similar style to give a skeleton look to my fingers. It was done in a subtle way – I have a friend who is a great make up artist – so that it wasn’t immediately apparent. At first glance, I looked a little pale and sickly. It was only at second glance when I appeared as if my bones were showing through.

Needless to say, my Grim Reaper costume was a big success. Grim Reaper costumes and other distinctly Halloween outfits usually are. Even if you don’t put that much effort into it, people love to see ghosts and goblins and ghouls of all kinds. I was lucky enough to be the only person in the party I was at with a Grim Reaper costume. I had been to Halloween parties before with three or four different people all dressed up as the Grim Reaper, and I was afraid that that was going to be the deal today. It is nice to be at least somewhat unique, even if your costume is not very original. And thanks to my friend, I had one of the best Grim Reaper costumes there were. Few people take time to get the makeup right, and doing so made me outshine most of the other Grim Reapers who were no doubt were out that night.

There are several different approaches to animal costumes. One of them is the professional mascot approach. In this approach, your animal costume should look as cartoony as possible. Professional mascots all have a particular look that owes a lot to Disney animation. Many of the costumes are actually made by the same companies, and they all have a very slick appearance that focuses on anthropomorphic design.

Then again, it all depends on what you are wearing an animal costume for. Sometimes, animal ear costumes are the best. A lot of people like to dress up as cats, wolves, or other creatures with pointy ears because it looks attractive. With a little bit of face paint and some pointy ears, you can come up with a cheap animal costume. This is a great approach for Halloween parties – particularly ones held in college. It will give people the message that you are fun and flirty and open to talk to strangers. More importantly for many, it is less expensive than an animal mascot costume.

There is also the approach favored by kids animal costumes. In these, cuteness comes above all else. They also are cartoony like animal mascot costumes, but with an important difference. The emphasis is on the eyes and adorable expressions. They can be soulful, pouty, sunshiny – any basic emotion. Although these costumes used to be used exclusively by children, nowadays they’re more popular with adults than ever. As a matter of fact, at the Halloween party I went to last year, this was the most popular animal costume design.

Finally, there are the animal costumes that strive for realism. Anyone can be a cute cartoony animal, but if you can come up with a realistic animal costume design, people will be really impressed with your look. It is an especially good effect if you’re trying to be scary. Dressing up as a wolf, mountain cat, or some other dangerous and vicious animal makes a big impression in Halloween parties.

Then again, you can always feel free to combine the different kinds of animal costumes until you find the right balance for yourself. The important thing is to create a fun costume design that you enjoy wearing and that looks good on you. Uniqueness counts a lot, so sometimes you can score more points by coming up with something totally original than with coming up with something that is traditionally “good.” Feel free to experiment!
