Hiyahh, me (girl aged 13) and my brother (age 11) are in urgent need of halloween costume ideas !! we need it to be quite cheap, so don’t give me websites with really expensive prices. We want it cheap but not lame. And we don’t want it boring neither, so not the obvious ideas like zombies and witches. We would prefer it scary too.

Is it Halloween yet? Man, it is taking forever to get here! I just can’t wait to scare some tiny trick-or-treaters. That is always my favorite part. I can whip out my handy vampire makeup, glue in my fake fangs and pull on my dark cloak.

You should just see how well I actually resemble Dracula. Okay, minus the whole bug eating thing. Anyway, that night full of spooks, strange sounds, and howling monsters sure can be a blast if you do it right. Last year I was able to scare at least a dozen little witches, goblins and ghouls out of their wits. Of course then I gave them a hefty portion of candy to smooth things over. This way they get the full effect of that eerie autumn night that only comes around once each year. They get the trick and the treat. Anyone else up for a little Halloween fun and excitement? That spooky evening is drawing near.

What are you going to be for Halloween this year? Have you tried the new Freddy costumes yet? Or maybe you’re more of a Jason fan. There is certainly something to be said about all that 80s slasher flick propaganda. It seems like we horror movie nuts can’t get enough of it. Why else would we spend our Halloweens prancing around like a cinema serial killer? Personally I tend to go with the same costume every year.

I know what you’re thinking; how boring. Well, when it comes to vampire makeup and a good set of fangs, I just have trouble saying no. Surely there is a costume or character that has this same effect on you. Is it a witch, warlock or werewolf? Or do you like to invent your own monster get-up? Regardless of what you like to be, the best place to shop for supplies is the World-Wide-Web. Where did you think I got my fangs and vampire makeup? The reason I prefer cyberspace is because of the selection.

Compared to Halloween shops and other stores, there is simply no question. I don’t care if you’re searching for mere vampire makeup or an entire King Kong costume, the Internet is the place to look. Not to mention you can do it easily from the privacy of your own home. You can hardly beat that. So if you’re ready to go costume hunting or just need to pick up some fake blood and vampire makeup, hop online and check out the selection. They literally have prices that compete with anyone.

Where did you find your costume for last Halloween? Did you hit up Target or Wal-Mart? You cheap-skate! You never want to belittle All Hallows Eve with such cheesy garbage. What you need is some real Halloween costume stores. You know, the ones that go all out with gobs of fake blood, pools of rising mist and authentic Freddy Kruger costumes and Michael Myers masks. One nuance that I especially love these days regards the classic vampire. Remember how they used to sell those cheap plastic fangs every year? Yeah, you remember the ones. They were uncomfortable, tacky looking and swamped with saliva every time you pulled them out. Yuck! Well, fortunately these days technology has increased. Now you can buy realistic fangs that literally glue on your K-9 teeth. I’m talking “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” real. These things look great once you’ve got them on. I think mine cost me around 20 bucks at one of the local costume stores. But I must say they were well worth it. Now that I think of it, you can probably even find them cheaper on the World-Wide-Web. This is also a choice place to search for Halloween costumes, decorations, and props. Not to mention a variety of other costumes for any random occasion. So hop online and check out all the virtual costume stores today. You’re bound to save some big bucks.

I actually spotted a captain america costume a few years back when I was squeezing through the Halloween crowd on Franklin Street in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. To my surprise it was on a sorority girl, not a guy. It was probably the greatest captain america costume I had ever seen. She wore it well my friends. And so can you if you find the right place to shop for your truly unique captain america costume. I on the other hand must go out into the dark and scary night as something much more menacing. Or at least menacing looking. I always like to offer the trick-or-treators a spooky experience when they come a knocking on my door. That’s the way it should be done on Halloween. Aside from a snazzy captain america costume, what else do you suppose is imperative in your Halloween experience? I think a dazzling array of props, lights and decorations are in order. Make those little tikes want to come to your door. Don’t you recall how fun and exhilarating this was as a child? I deck my home out more on Halloween than any other holiday. It’s a blast stringing spider webs and hanging bats. The motion detectors are essential now days. This way when someone approaches your door, they’re startled by a frightening voice and some eerie sounds. So I’m a little confused about the "what ever happened to Halloween" comments, unless you happened to have grown up in a previous decade when it might have been a standard, or in a place/country where people dressed exclusively in scary costumes. I understand that some people like to keep with the traditional idea of Halloween, where you are supposed to be blending in with the spooks. Just wondering where and when people grew up that unscary costumes were not common.
